Happy New Year people! I’ve written “2014” several times now and it’s weird. So far this first week has been great. I took a brief hiatus for December (really and truly wonderful and crazy busy month) and I’m happy to see you all here ready to eat healthy for 2014! Especially eating this avocado toast for breakfast.
This is one of my favorite mantras right now. I really think eating healthy is about 80% of your overall health, but that other 20% of physical activity makes my day feel so much more productive and happy! Even if my pecs hurt today from yesterday’s workout. (Go to my pinterest board for work out ideas and inspiration.)
Although the people pictured here are doing something physical, the same mantra can go for eating healthy. It all started with a 6 week experiment a year and a half ago. I want to hear about your healthy food success too!
When I don’t have peanut butter oatmeal smoothies, granola, or almond butter and bananas for breakfast, I’m probably eating avocado toast with tomatoes. It’s nice to have a vegan way to eat a savory breakfast that includes fresh veggies. But if you’re not ready to go totally vegan, top your toast with avocado and an egg, still adding the tomatoes. Then lightly salt and pepper your veggies and devour.
Sometimes I put off eating until about 10, just to skip eating something sweeter in the morning, that’s why this is so good. Savory before 8am. Thank you.
Now if only I could get back on track to go running at 6am…
